Thank you for your enquiry.  We hope that you decide to join our family run nursery, with your children enjoying many happy years as part of our loving and caring nursery.  Please feel free to contact us if you wish to ask any questions that we may not have covered.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT LEAVING YOUR CHILD IS AN IMPORTANT STEP IN YOUR CHILDS LIFE, BOTH YOU AND YOUR CHILD NEED TO FEEL HAPPY WITH ALL ARRANGEMENTS.

ABOUT THE NURSERY

We opened our doors on the 13 January 1986, after converting two units into purpose built nursery units.  One is specifically designed for the under threes and the other for the over threes.  Included within these units are bedrooms with monitoring windows and baby monitors, nappy changing room, childsize toilets and cloakroom.  Outside there is a large fenced garden with outdoor equipment.  We also have a self-contained kitchen for the preparation of meals and snacks.

We are registered with OFSTED (The Office for Standards in Education).  These inspect us regularly and a copy of our inspection report is available using the link provided.

We are currently rated GOOD by OFSTED in our most recent inspection (June 2016)

OUR AIMS

We aim to provide a unique nursery environment combining all the essential things needed in your child’s early learning years, with all the home comforts and stability that a one to one environment provides. All of our activities are planned in line with the early years foundation stage curriculum.

Greenhays is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of  children, young people and adults at all times and expects everybody working  within our setting to share this commitment.

THE STAFF

We pride ourselves on our loving and kind attitude to all the children in our care (many of whom are with us from six weeks to five years old).  We are a small family concern which means that we do not have a large staff turn over which we feel helps us to build a good relationship with the parents and the children.  All our staff have the relevant qualifications in line with the CWCD (Children’s Workforce Development Council).  Staff training is reviewed yearly and any areas in need of improvement are identified and the relevant courses are set up.  Staff training is on-going.  All of our staff  have been DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked.  At present we have 7 fulltime members of staff, all with level 2 and/or 3 qualifications, 1 trainee who is currently working towards their Level 2 qualification, and 1 part-time member of staff.
